Saravanaa Bhavan

Saravanaa Bhavan, besides Chipotle was the only New York City restaurant that I frequented.

Though I may have been biased towards Sangeetha so far here in Hong Kong for South Indian food, this was equally good the two times I came here.

Yesterday, the service was good as well, which wasn’t usually the case at the New York location.

Kara dosa is my staple at this chain. And it was similar in taste, though they seem to skimp here on the filling, compared to New York.

The hubster got his staple at any South Indian restaurant, which was a rava masala dosa. An uttapam for the child, which seemed slightly undercooked in the center.

Good chutneys, especially the tomato one, which was a bit different, more gingery (works too well for me).

The idli was soft, not as white and the vada, great. And their sambhar has always been good consistency, good taste, between New York and here.
